recommendation. Seattle has been the most advanced part of the state in allowing people to live according to the law with few or no arrests except for someone selling illegal Marijuana. However, the eastern part of the state, and some officials even in Seattle want to continue to arrest, harass, and harm people in dire need of the medical help from Medical Marijuana. In other words, they are renegades who are acting as if Washington is a Police State, disregarding the laws of the state. Governor Christine Gregoire has not spoke on this issue and ignored the wrongful prosecution of legal users.
There are basically three kinds of Marijuana. Indica, Sativa, and Indica/Sativa mix. It is well known that Indica plants are very sedating and also very helpful with chronic pain, while Sativas are more of the heady buzz which helps some patients not focus on the pain. Many choose the cross of the two to cover both bases. That's how real the science behind marijuana is.
When Americans' talk about ''legalizing drugs'' it's the wrong argument. I don't think 95% of the American population wants to see cocaine or methamphetamine legalized. Those are drugs. However when the case boils down to legalizing marijuana for Medical purposes or merely to keep our over crowded jails in check by not locking up recreational users, the American people have spoken repeatedly around the Country on making the medical consumption legal. Why is it still so political. It's just like many issues, both parties are afraid that they will be viewed as ''soft on drugs''. However when asked in private most Senators and Representatives will affirm their belief it should be legalized for so many reasons. Someone can have one joint in their possession and get up to 6 months in jail in some states. On average that is a cost between 14,000$ and 18,000$ for the six month period for taking care of the prisoner. That's absurdity. In Georgia, the state has brought about laws several years ago that if someone is busted for possession of marijuana, they can lose their State Retirement, lose their job, and even lose their house, no matter what the quantity. Can you imagine working for the state for 40 years and gaining a substantial retirement plan and then suddenly, POOF, it's gone because you got caught smoking a joint. The state does not have the constitutional right to do any of this, but the law has gone unchallenged.
As for driving or other activities, the law should be viewed as the same as alcohol. If
