If Only I Could Turn the Clock Back
There once was a time a boy had encountered. That boy was named Matthew, and it was a terrible time. It was so bad that he wanted to go back and change everything. Let me tell you what happened
After coming home from a Sunday football game, Matthew and his family were exhausted. In addition to homework, Matthew also has an upcoming math test on Tuesday. He decided to do all of his homework that night and study for the test on Monday.
The next morning, Matthew was of course, at not his best. He cannot focus on the teachers' lessons because he was so sleepy. Therefore, he literally missed all the important problems and notes his math teacher gave.
After school, Matthew walked home. He was so tired that he didn't even know if he was on the sidewalk. Suddenly, a drunk driver crashed and ran over him.
When Matthew founded out that he was in the hospital, he thought to himself. If only I could turn the clock back, I would be so careful. I could have done all of my homework and study for the test ahead of time. I could've slept early. I could've paid more attention! If I only could go back in time and change everythingbut if only I could. Maybe next time I will be so careful so I can avoid things like this...
Realizing that changing time is impossible, he learned that every problem has a moral lesson to teach. He also learned that he could learn from mistakes. I don't know about Matthew, but I also learned that paying attention to our needs is crucial, because anything wrong can lead to a big disaster. And even if we had a time machine, I'm sure that everything will still not work as well as mother nature.
A Knock on the Door
I am a homeless boy and I always feel very hungry and weary. Without a home or shelter to live in and little food to eat, I live in the filthy streets. I envy rich people and the wonderful things that they acquire. They do not give me anything, not even a penny. These selfish people treat me like an animal. I am a laughing stock. I begin to walk down the familiar, old dirt road.
I then see a strange-looking house that floats on white clouds. It's shaped like a wooden cross. Seeing the old, musty door, I knock on it three times.
Then I think to myself. What if someone will not answer my knocks? What if they do not even give me anything, just like the rich people? What if they are not even there? Maybe I should walk away before the owner curses me.
Suddenly, I hear a door open. My jaw drop and my eyes bulge out. Is it really Jesus Christ? It's Him! I could not believe my own two eyes. Just by looking at Jesus, I feel happy and peaceful because all my worries of hunger and shelter are disappearing. His love fills my heart and I feel joyful.
