Poetry: The office

by Judith Krouse

Getting Off Work

One more hour to wait.
Then will be out the gate.
Waiting for customers,
Air-conditioning blurs.

Fifty five more minutes,
Waiting will drive me nuts.
Listening to the agents,
Popping in more mints.

Soon it will be all over,
No more calls for flower.
Will be on my way home,
Comfortably in my zone.

Relaxing in my chair,
Not worry about my hair.
Don't want to see the news,
That will give me the blues.

Enjoy my family,
Who I can really see.
Not think of tomorrow,
Back to work and sorrow.
