How far do you intend to go,
to escape the raging storms?
How far will your legs carry you,
through the torrents?
You can't run forever,
Eternity becomes never.
How many tears have blended,
their salt with the falling rain?
How many times will you wipe your eyes,
before they're raw and bleeding?
You can't cry forever, darling,
Eternity becomes never.
How long will you scream,
until you realize no one can hear you?
How long will you cry out to nothing,
before you're drowned out by the thunder?
You can't scream forever, love,
Eternity becomes never.
How often will you beg for mercy,
until you see there's none to give?
How often will you grab my hand,
before you see that i can't help you?
You can't pray forever,
Eternity becomes never.

With ever step the trudging slows.
A shelter can nowhere be found.
