Essays: Why I write

Why I write is solely because I like the quiet, and relaxation of the click, click, and click of my fingers. At times, I take the pen as a weapon to make myself feel better! A crazy, awful day can become a better one because I have released the stress through my fingers. The words are my artillery and it doesn't kill anyone, (unless they don't like what I say)! They can do what they want with my words; to me it is very personal it is what I am thinking!

I do this for me, and it is mine!

Maybe I am a little bit introverted because I like to write, and it's my way of feeling like it's my special place. Like the reader who likes to read they can pick up a book, and fantasize about where they are going. They can envision that they have traveled to a place that makes them safe! If the writer does a great job, then they have done their part to make this place visual for their reader.

I visualize that what I am writing is perhaps read by someone who feels the same as I. My message is heard, and I like to write about many things that have affected my life. Some sorrows, some joys, bad experiences, good ones, but some ideas I have to solve problems, etc.

Sometime like a good wine, we are seasoned with what we have experienced, and we can help someone with a similar situation by giving them advice from the tried and true. Experience vs. Experiment! Vinegar vs. Oil! We have something to say that some one will say I get it!

I guess I like to help people, and that is my nature!

I look at my resume of life, and I see various things I have done. I have written for papers, wrote advertisements, stood behind a camera, been in front of the camera, sang for people, listened to people, sold for people, made friends with people, studied to become a journalist to studying some biology to becoming a nurse, led people, and been a mom!

I have made some mistakes along the way, but learned from them as well. In fact there are times; this old dog learns something new from some new dogs! Be open like a parachute, and the learning will continue.

Keep writing! I listen to old songs, and I envision how the lyricist for a song must have felt in a certain time of their lives. Why did they write "Sweet Caroline?" Why did they write "Big Shot?" Or why did they write doe a deer a female deer?

Were they sleeping and it just came to them? Probably! Were they thinking of someone in their lives? Possibly!

It was their special time to write, and they made that feeling on paper turn into millions of more words, and numbers. Perhaps the end result was paid to the order of and numbers to follow! They are able to write, and get paid for it! That is my mission someday to be paid for this relaxation, and feelings I put down on paper!

Am I the diamond in the rough?
