A Child Who Speaks Foul

When children speaks vulgar, the famous saying "out of the mouths of babes" could not be more fitting or truer. Day by day many children, from the youngest to the teenager, not only hears swearing in the public but they live in it too. They believe that it is normal to think and use words that have no respect or class to them. Then, there is the child whose family tries to do their best to show he or she that some one's vocabulary does not consist of these words. Their parents don't speak or condone foul language. They try to teach their child, there are other ways of expressing oneself. That some people may find the language being distasteful and crude. But how does someone teach their child not to impressed by it? When foul language is growing instead of ending. What is a parent or guardian suppose to do? When swearing is everywhere? It is in the public, the homes, the schools, and within their child's friendships.

For instance, the rock group Van Halen, in 1991, brought out their album titled "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge" or better known as F. U. C.*. The album sold millions leaving the group in the favorite of fans and on the billboard for weeks. Showing that the music industry not only supports this type language but promotes it. While teenagers not only bought the album but praised it for its content. Since that time there are a very few songwriters, especially in the rock, heavy metal, rap, and alternative, that does not choose this way expressing of themselves in their writings. It seems like the more vulgar the song is, the more popular and wanted it is. With music stores who play the songs and vidoes for every one to see and hear it, whether the consumer likes it or not.

Just like the music industry, television and movies have the very same effect on children, if not worst. A parent can put on a safe television program, leave the room. And they think there child is safe from such programming. Then without notice, another television will come on with swearing . Then the parent comes back into the room with th original program back on. The parent never knew that their child experienced anything different.

Then there are the movies. It is true the movies are rated for certain things like: nudity, violence, and language. But how many teens can sneak into the movies or go to a friends house to see it. They see that it is socially accetable with how words are said.

But neither one of these industries compare to the life in the home,
