Does anybody think that increasing the minimum wage will really decrease the amount of people living in poverty?
I don't my grandmother gets social security every month; she recieves an increase one a year to compensate for the cost of living. A raise is always good right? She was given a 30 dollar raise a month after it was given her rent went up 45 dollars. So was the increase a burden or a blessing.
This is what brings me to my point. If you increase the minimum wage every one in the economy will pay for the increase to include the poverse. If Taco Bell has to pay its unskilled workers most of which should still be in highschool more money then they will be forced to increase the cost of merchandise to cover the cost of the raise. In the end does it pay to increase the wages of unskilled highschoolers?
The answer is to slow down the cost of living it is far exceeding the average income of our population. Please remember also that the only reason the average income is 35k is because of the unbalance of rich people bringing the avg up from 12k.
Where is the logic in a home here in Florida tripling in value over 2 years there is nothing to support the increase. That there is one of the problems Florida will face later in time. Teachers have to work two jobs just to pay their mortgage.
