The Catherine Wheel
........
She was a butter yellow star coach
A spinning cordite limousine
A vehicle of wonders
A dizzy acid glitter queen
A dangerous dancer
A mad and lovely kite on high
A dagger-wielding dervish
Making ribbons of the sky
A galaxy of vertigo
A fever devil spark display
A chemical delusion
A harbinger of holiday
A white-hot golden specter
A smoking ghost, a melon rind
A sizzling confusion
Tattooed in crimson on my mind.
