to be honest i don't really think that its such a good idea to have a room-mate your first year of college. talking from the somewhat experience i can say that with a room-mate you don't get a whole lot done. most people who live alone are more likely to be successful rather then living with a bunch of random people. you see when your surround by a group of people all you want to do is have fun and party. you don't seem to be to worried about anything that has to do with school, just as long as your having a good time. i mean most people just go to college for the fun experience that the college life will bring to you. in most cases it may be good to have a room-mate, but not if most people are just thrown together. in my experience you may not exactly have a say so in who you get for a room-mate. thats just something to think about when you go off to college! if you don't have enough money to rent your own apartment you are just one of the unlucky people who have to be thrown into living the rest of the year in such a cramp little space with people who you have never even met before. or even people who you might never be friends with! i just don't really think that your first year should be subject to living with total strangers because honestly when the time comes, you don't want to spend the rest of your college experience playing catch up to others who were smart enough not to of gotten into the trouble you have. but of course most colleges are different and most people are different. i guess it basically depends on if you can handle it or not and if you know what you're really getting into. but i guess things have changed alot in the past several years about college and the rules. it seems now-a-days it all depends on if you can afford to even go to college. it seems that most people don't even make it past their first year of college, expecially if you're to worried about partying rather then studying. while most people are flucking out of college because of the partying, there are other people out there in the world who really do want to go attend college but their families can't afford it. but back to the matter at hand, alot can be determined if a student has the time and space to focus, instead of worrying about argueing with room-mates working full-time and all the other stresses of the college life. but what can i say? i can't speak for the rest of the world and what they may think about the situation of the matter.
