In the 21st Century, journaling is slowly becoming a part of our culture and taking hold by those who need to relax and write down there thoughts. Many benefits take place for an individual who wants to journal. One, he or she feels better about himself or herself after writing down their stresses and anxieties for that day. Two, sometimes it is wonderful to get your thoughts down on paper because it is nice to see it in black and white instead of keeping it bottled up inside, which could lead to depression and much more. Last, journaling puts the mind at ease because it allows the individual to relax and get rest that is much needed for him or her. I would encourage you to take up journaling because it is an opportunity for you to take care of yourself. This is your "me" time, and no one else can have it but "you," and it is "your choice" on whether or not you start it or not.
If you have never journaled before in your lifetime, now is the time to begin, and I would encourage you to start as soon as you possibly could. Now you may be thinking, "I don't like to write," so why should I start now. Well, it has been proven in many Psychology articles that if you start to write down your thoughts, then most of your worries and anxieties for the day will disappear, literally. You may be thinking also, "Yeah right, this does not seem possible at all." Well, it is true, you can actually find out more information by going to Proquest or some other website that offers it, and look it up yourself.
Here is a real life example in hopes to encourage you to start this wonderful opportunity to enhance yourself. I used to not journal, but I chose to about four years ago. I thought the same thing you were thinking, and once I started it, I could not stop, and it changed me for the better. I wrote about my good times and my bad; consequently, I felt better mentally, physically, and spiritually, and I know you can too. Will you take the time to start it, and have someone hold you accountable to it for the first 3-5 months, and then after that see what happens? If you are not satisfied, you can stop, but I can guarantee you that you will not. You will leave a changed person, and more content with whatever circumstance comes your way.
