Today's premium, luxury home

Today, luxury homes are both energy efficient and stylish. They utilize some of the best home construction techniques and features ever. They blend luxury and convenience effortlessly with energy saving and environmentally sound ethics.

The list of features that high end home buyers require seems to grow every year. One of the latest trends is the increased concern that new homes are more ecologically friendly. Greener products are attracting more and more interest. Increased energy efficiency in appliances and building materials minimizes the ongoing running costs for the homeowner.

Features like premium insulation and energy efficient windows cut the heating and cooling costs of a home dramatically. Modern appliances are more efficient, with lower running costs than their older less efficient counterparts. Heating systems and air conditioners are no exception to this. Investing in a well designed air-conditioning system will result in a more constant and comfortable temperature with lower running costs when compared to an an older less efficient system. Premium systems usually offer greater flexibility, with more zones to allow for more appropriate temperatures in different parts of the home.

Advances in window and glass technology have allowed specialized window products, such as hurricane resistant glass, to become more readily available to todays home builders and renovators. The long term benefits in areas prone to hurricane damage are immeasurable. During Hurricanes vast amounts of damage is caused to personal items and furniture by windows shattering. The initial investment may be higher, but when it is balanced against the potential loss of property that they help prevent, it may be an upgrade that pays for itself.

As technology advances new ways to automate the home are becoming more readily available. Early in the technology these systems were incredibly expensive and complex. Today, with advances in computer processing speeds and wireless networks, home automation is much more affordable, reliable and useful. Today's luxury home often includes a centralized electronics system or home monitoring system that allows the home owner to control everything from lighting to alarms

Systems can be programmed to turn on different lights throughout the property and alter the temperature so the modern homeowner never has to come home from a trip to a dark and uninviting home. It is also possible to link the system to a cell phone or computer allowing you to monitor
