Let us start with a history lesson:
In the 1920's, there was a large overpopulation issue due to immigration. The solution to this issue: Get rid of the orient by banning opiates! To get rid of the Mexicans, the US government sent them back to their country of origin. The point that I am trying to make is that today, you hear about the so-called "war of drugs." If our government could be honest, it would be known as a war on race (in which I really don't condone); and well, we cannot have that.
Anyways, one thing (or plant) still managed to stay here in the great US of A: marijuana! There's just one problem with that: because of that fact that our free country cannot put any kind of taxation on this intoxicating flower, it is still illegal.
Here's some dry humor for the people: methamphetamine, cocaine, and a few other synthetic drugs are looked at as class two drugs by the FDA (with SOME medicinal properties); yet marijuana is listed under class one (with absolutely NO medical properties) by the FDA.
I know that every pot head has thought of this; but wouldn't you think that if the whole world smoked pot, the junk food market would sky rocket, thus somehow infecting other markets on wall street, meaning less inflation on things that we NEED (like gas), there would be no debate over getting the soldiers back, because everybody (including our president) would do anything to keep the peace.
Yes, marijuana should be legalized, but because too many people are more for capitalism and not for making this world, genuinely, a better place to live, we might as well take what we can have and hopefully, someone will take notice about how this country SHOULD be run.
Furthermore, it is my personal belief that marijuana is less of a drug, and more of a way to install peace within our system, thus making a better environment to enjoy and to be a part of.
Think about this: If we keep going on like this, there's going to be more deaths, domestic violence disputes, and more casualties of war. ALL BECAUSE MARIJUANA CANNOT BE TAXED AS A GOVERNMENT PROPERTY! And in my subjective opinion, this is not the way America was meant to be ran.
There is a modern day witch hunt towards all that distribute, smoke and enjoy marijuana, and if you ask me, this is not free.
I know that I am going on and probably being redundant, but I am just trying to spread the significance of how this wonderful plant has nothing but positive effects personally and environmentally.
Finally, if you have yet to "take a toke" if you will, and you have come across this article, know that not only is it not habit forming and decreases the real crime rate, but it also does not cause any developmental or physical harm to upcoming new born babies.
Everybody nowadays talks about how it is time for a change. I agree, but for different reasons. And it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure these reasons out
