Poetry: Catharsis

by Beth Dobbs

Created on: July 14, 2008

"Release"

He pummeled me with iron fists,
But he never touched me.

He strangled me with steel chains,
But he never tried to kill me.

He ran to other open arms,
Forcing mine to close,
But I missed him.

He came to ask for my forgiveness,
Said he had changed,
But I said no.
