Poetry: Vampires

by Beth Dobbs

Created on: July 14, 2008

"Immortal"

The blood flows like wine,
Scorching my throat.
Plucked from the vine,
The bloom of his cheeks
Withers and dies.
I break our connection;
He's delivered to Death.
The last drop of life
Is gone in a breath.
He invited my lips,
My deadly kiss.
Now I leave,
A shadow of the night.
His blood soaring through me,
My heart takes flight.
Nocturnal eyes
Search for another,
A second gift for the goddess,
Another life to fuel mine.
