Give Me Until The Night
Give me until the night
Until the warm fire, with its amber glow
that grows to fill the room
and you are in my eyes
Your soft voice in my ears
The touch of your hand in mine
The feel of your back as I pull you to me
and we dance
beneath the promised moon of this infant year
Under the spiraling stars in the still cold sky
And we live
between the breaths that we take
Between the promises we make
and the ones that break and fall
and land within our reach to renew
as I am new within your eyes
Oh, just give me until the night
Until the warm fire with its amber glow,
and we dance beneath the promised moon
and kiss goodbye
