We have to protect our children at any age. However the teen more so, Have you people watched the news lately. About all the teens beating up on the kids that they think are lesser then them, because they either have no money, the right clothes and most of all over some stupid she said he said stuff.
I am sorry that these children (teens) none the less still children are being beat up. Our job as a parent is to make sure our children do not get beat up, but mostly that our children do not beat up other children. That our children are safe and able to live life to the fulliest. However in today's age we can not provide for them the safty and the security that we once had growing up. This is because other parents out there do not teach their children well, and correctly. You do not let your child at any age run off at any givin moment, nor do you allow them to beat up anyone let alone, talk to anyone disrespectfully.

My parents said the worsest thing they had to worry about when I was a child was Kidnapping, and one of us stealing something. Now if you look today, what as parents do we have to worry about theses days more then anything..... Sexual Preditors, kidnappers, our kids stealing, our children being killed by other children and children beating them up plus some.
No we are not overprotecting our children, our children need to be talkin to and have discussions on to as why we are over protecting them as we are. Give them the info that is out there, don't be afraid to show your child the news when another child is being beatin up, or killed or kidnapped or even sexually abused by someone.I am sorry to say it but my child getting on drugs worries me far less then what I fear today for my children.... I am worried about them getting on drugs, but at least they will be home and I can help them easier as if they weren't . Or if they were cornered in some gals/boys home gettin beat up, killed, abused.Where I couldn't help them at all because I was stupid enough not to get the info on where, when , who and what. I have given my children cell phones to call and check in with me every 30 mins, so to tell me they are alright and if something happened or was about to happen they could call me. Its better then not knowing at all. If they don't pick up that phone when I call I go to them. Check up on them, I am strict with my two girls because I have to be not because I want to be.
There are far to many dangers out there today even in the very small town we live in. In bigger cities.... I think I would havea heartattack with the stress of worring all the time.
Parents please for the sake of your children... and maybe to save a nother child..... over protect and be strict. Always be aware of what your child is doing and where they are doing it at. Give them the reasons, show them the reasons, there is info everywhere , that you can show your child why you are strict as you are or going to be. Youtube is a great place to show your child why you are strict, and why you do the things you do. If your child is a problem child don't ignore it, get your child the help she or he needs to protect themselves and others from themselves. From one parent to another if we don't noone else will. It begins and ends with you as a parent.....
