Whether or not you should wear a mini skirt depends on many things other than age. In todays age of plastic surgery, dieticians, personal trainers, and twenty four hour gyms it's hard to tell how old people are anymore. I personally work with a 52 year old woman who looks like she could be 35. Not a single wrinkle and perfectly toned muscles and skin on her 5'10 frame. Wow.

QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF (Before venturing out in a mini skirt)

1)Can I pull it off physically?

Like PVC clothing, I believe mini skirts are an earned right. For instance, when I weigh 130 and have sleek legs from working out at the gym for a year, I can wear one. When I weigh 195 pounds and my thighs are attached to the knee, I can't wear one. Simple as that.

2)Do I really care what anyone else thinks?

This may be the most important question of all. As long as you're not showing off private bits with every step you take, and as long as you sit without providing a peep-show for everyone around you, you are not breaking any laws. You have the right to wear anything you want to, whether or not it looks good on you. This applies to men and women although private organizations have the right to set their own dress-codes so be respectful!

3)Is the mini skirt occasion appropriate?

An obvious question. You've decided you look great in the mini skirt, or you just don't care and want to wear it anyway. Where are you planning on sporting those sexy gams? A walk on the beach, shopping, dancing... go for it! Church, work, playing baseball, a funeral... maybe think twice.

4)Am I embarrassing anyone?

The mini skirt can be something like a new fast sports car to the mid-life crisis set. I get it. Twenty years ago you were making the opposite sex swoon, but now you are worried your mate's attention may wander to a younger set of legs. Or worse, your husband just left you for his 25 year old secretary and you desperately need to boost your sexual ego. Even if you look great in your new mini skirt and high heels, is it really cool to have your 19 year old son's friends drooling over you? How does he feel about that? Is he mortified, or does he think it's cool to have such a hottie for a mom? Maybe you should find out first!

5)Why am I wearing a mini-skirt?

If the answer is "I look great, and feel great!", then GREAT! Wear the heck out of the cute little thing! If the answer is "I really need to find myself a date!" or "I'm really feeling old and forgotten", then maybe you are looking for the wrong sort of attention!

Stacy and Clinton from "What not to wear" say 35 is the age to stop wearing mini skirts. I beg to differ. I think DEATH is too old to wear a mini skirt, other than that the answer is situational.
