So you're out of work and you're looking for a website to help you in your job search? Monster.com is as good as any to help in that task.
First step, create an account:
To start the process, there's a line of links that you can click on at the top right of the screen. The links are: looking for a job? Fraud/security and help.
You will want to click on "looking for a job?" This will take you to the page where you can log into your account. Of course, you don't have one yet, so an option is available to create one. Click on the continue option at the bottom of the box entitled "not a member yet?" which is to the right of the login box.
The next step is more or less standard procedure where you need to fill in all the information about you that you normally have to create accounts elsewhere. But there is one or two differences. You will have to fill in fields relating to work. Also, it is recommended to have your resume public, so employers can see it without you applying for jobs and sending your details to them. You might not get good offers, but the chance is there that you will.
If you're not studying, are out of work and don't have experience with managing roles, your best bet is to choose entry level when filling in the career level field. When it comes to the field underneath that one, just choose whatever best describes your qualifications.
When it comes to target job title, that's pretty self-explanatory again. Everything else below is pretty self-explanatory again, with the exception of "resume options". It's recommend to choose the option the website recommends, which would be "build my resume online".
Once that's all done, it's time to build your resume. Again, self-explanatory. Just fill it out as you would a C.V., listing your current employment and your experience. Once completed, you'll be taken to your account page. Take a moment or two to review the information given and if satisfactory, click on "I'm finished" to the left of the screen.
Once complete, you can choose to follow some recommended, next steps. On this screen, you will also find an option that you can click regarding "keeping your job search secret" which is a nifty option. In other words, use it if you don't want your current employer finding out you're job hunting.
However, for the next step, click on the "find jobs" tab.
Finding jobs:
At the bottom of the screen, you will find you can search for jobs by: title, state etc. Instead, use the options provided in the green box at the top of the
