Last year there was a conference called Restore America held in Oregon. After reading about it, I lay, wide awake, wondering why so many fundamentalist Christians have so much hate for people who don't believe as they do. I thought about the commonality of all the speakers who attended the conference. Some of them were: Gary Cass, former pastor, Executive Director of the Center for Reclaiming America; Marshall Foster, Founder and President of the Mayflower Institute, a non-profit educational foundation dedicated to reclaiming America's godly heritage; Rick Scarborough, Founder and Director of Vision America. Former pastor and current national leader, mobilizing pastors in the war on faith, and Mathew Staver, Founder and President, Liberty Counsel, Chief Counsel in the U.S. Supreme Court Kentucky Ten Commandments Case. A few of the topics for the conference were: Godlessness in America: What it means for America and our Children; The Homosexual Agenda: The destruction of traditional marriage, family, and the making of moral distinctions; Hate Speech' & Hate Crimes' legislation: Censoring the moral voice of Christians.
From what I gather, all of these people, and many more, have decided that the United States has become morally and religiously bankrupt and they intend to fix it...for all of us. Their plan is to take over the government by placing like-minded politicians in office. Once this happens, new policy can be written that would "take us back to the America of our founding fathers." Which ones, is not made clear. There are the devout Christian founders who thought slavery was righteous and morally sound. But it could be the ones who enjoyed a good witch-burning every now and then. Maybe they intend to take us even further back and reinstate the Inquisition.
The immediate plan of the conference was to stop HR254 (Hate Speech' & Hate Crimes' legislation) and eradicate homosexuality.
First: HR 254. (The contents of the actual bill can be found at: http://www.congress.org/congressorg/webreturn/?url=h ttp://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c110:H.R.254:)

Who's Warning About The Hate Bill?
By Rev. Ted Pike 2-14-7
The federal "anti-hate" bill, HR 254, is stealth legislation at its most devious. Its language deceives all but the most suspicious and informed.
Frighteningly, HR 254 says its goal is to "prevent and respond to alleged violations" of federal hate crimes laws.
