The Sky Is The Limit: Ways To Expand Your Business

Congratulations! You have succeeded in establishing a viable business, but you want to expand it. Perhaps you are not quite certain how to do that?

Here are some simple ways to expand a business:

1. What was your original vision?

Look seriously at the kind of a business you have already established. Ask yourself if this was the original vision that you had for your business. Was it what you dreamed about doing and expected to achieve? It may be time for a new vision, based upon the groundwork and the foundation that you have already laid.

2. What were your original goals, or expectations?

Perhaps you have not reached all of your previous goals and expectations? See if you can pinpoint the reason for this and then try to find ways to rectify the problem. Make the time to do a serious analysis of old short term and long term goals.

3. Look at your initial business plan.

When you wrote up your business plan originally, did it allow room for expansion? Perhaps you had not thought that far ahead? Maybe you only drew up an immediate, short term business plan? If that is the case, it is time to move forward.

4. Begin to revise your business plan.

Your business plan should state exactly what you are trying to accomplish, over a certain period of time. Business plans can be revised at any time and yours may be in need of revision, so begin to put the wheels in motion now.

5. Establish new short term, or long term goals.

It is always a feasible option to establish some new short and long terms goals that are more appropriate for your new vision. Remember that nothing ever stays the same and your business needs to expand, in order to accommodate change.

6. Examine the strengths and the weakness in your business.

It is the strengths in your business that have allowed you to come to this point in time, with the degree of success that you have already achieved. It is the weaknesses that may be preventing further expansion. There may be some way that you can turn your weaknesses into strengths. Consider that possibility and then find a way to act on it.

7. Do a financial analysis of your existing business, as it stands at the moment.

Perhaps what is preventing further expansion of your business is the current financing. By doing a financial analysis, you may be able to discern where the actual problem lies. There may be other financing options available to you. Speak
