Story of the prophet Huud

Hazrat Noah's A.S. followers who had been saved from the flood were good people. But years later, their children and grandchildren forgot what their parents had told them. These people were tall, fair, and well built and were called the Aad. They made beautiful houses and cities. Once again, they began to worship stone idols. So, Allah sent another prophet, Hazrat Hoodh A.S.(hud), to remind the tribe of Aad of His message.

Hazrat Hoodh A.S. told his people (Aad), "I am the messenger of Allah. He sent me, to tell you that you are not being good at all. And to remind you of how Allah punished the people in the days of Hazrat Noah A.S., and destroyed those who did not believe in Allah." But the Aads' refused to listen to Hazrat Hoodh's A.S. advice. They were angry with Hazrat Hoodh A.S. and said, " Do you want us to throw away our stone gods which our fathers and forefathers worshiped? No, Hazrat Hoodh A.S., we will never do what you say. Don't frighten us by talking of Allah's punishment. If we don't worship Him, let Him punish us." And Hazrat Hoodh A.S. said, "That azaab is not far away. You wait for it and I'll wait for you."
Soon their lands became dry. They had no rain and a poor crop. Hazrat Hoodh A.S. said to them, "My people ask Allah to forgive you. He gives you rain, gardens and crops. Seek Allah's pardon and He will give you plenty. Allah can do everything."
"You may say what you want. Hazrat Hoodh A.S., but we will do what our fathers did," said the Aads.
Hazrat Hoodh A.S. told them to be afraid of the One and Only Allah who blessed them not only with children but also with cattle. From cattle they got milk and meat. And so many other blessings.
But the Aads said, "Who can be stronger than us? " they said this because they did not know the strength of Allah.
At last, Allah became angry on their disobedience. He sent a very strong wind that blew for eight days and seven nights. It wiped out their cities and killed everyone. The wind was so strong that everything in its way was blown away like dust. The Aads and their big and beautiful houses with tall pillars vanished from the earth.
However, every prophet sent by Allah, may it be Hazrat Hoodh A.S or Hazrat Noah A.S. or the last prophet of Allah, HAzrat Mohammad Mustafa (P.B.U.H), all preached and taught the same thing. That is, there is No God except Allah. And that we should have faith in Him. If we do not believe Him and have trust on Him, then we will surely be destroyed.
May Allah show everyone the right path, and a place in paradise in the worh Hereafter. Ameen.
