Looking For A Way Out
Fly softly on butterfly wings,
the winds of change.
Pushing this way, and that.
Directions new and strange.
Which path to follow?
Which way to take?
Change blowing in
for change sake?
Beset by indecision.
A step taken in haste,
the fear of disaster
and a life's waste.
Time stops, a brief moment.
No looking back, move on!
The path, once chosen,
winds off, towards the sun.

In a downward spiral
That instead lasting only a short while
Seems to stretch for miles
On and on it seems
Emotionless
Motionle ssness
The calm after the storm
Blank pages in my book
Cause no alarm
And make no sense
All nonsense
The salty
Cigarette Burns
I stare at the cloud of smoke trailing from
The tip of my ultra light cigarette.
You're late again; I should
Among friends, how must I react?
How should I respond?
To so many complaints
Several offended
Fighting like cats and dogs
Trying
