Do we need humor on a daily basis?

Have you ever laughed until your sides hurt? Have you ever laughed until the tears ran down your face? That feeling you will always remember. You may forget other events that make you laugh. But that time that makes you roll on the floor until you can't think and everyone is laughing not at the event but at you, is what you remember most. Yeah those are the best times. Imagine if you never have those moments. Imagine if you thought and thought and never came up with one of those times. Imagine what life would feel like It would feel empty and dull and a little sad.

Humor frees the heart and liberates the soul. Just stop and think of the days when you didn't laugh and it was all business and you had nothing to smile about. Those are the hardest days. Those are the days that you wish you could do over or that you didn't have to do at all.

I believe that we need humor everyday to help us fulfill who we are as a person. Think about when your day is hard and you are tired and overworked and someone does something silly that makes you laugh. That laughter washes away the heartache that you had been dragging around all day. Or when you wake up and your mate/partner/child does something that makes you laugh deep in your belly, that day starts off just right. You carry that feeling with you.

Laughter makes you happy. When you carry that happiness inside you, things are different. You seem to speak to more people as you travel through your day. You seem to smile more and giggle for no reason. You seem to find good in people instead of seeing their faults.

Without laughter, life does not seem as bright. It seems dull and lifeless and cold. I feel for the people that think laughter is overrated. They are missing out on some of the best things in life. Laughter brings families together. Laughter defuses anger. Laughter reminds adult that the kid in us is still there and it is ok to show it sometimes. Laughter reminds us not to take life so seriously. Laughter tells us that we are ok and that we don't have to take ourselves so seriously. Laughter reminds us that world is not always so harsh and that there is a rainbow out there and if we look up we can see it. I don't know about you but I need to laugh everyday for as long as possible.

Laughter brings life. Laughter brings hope. Laughter brings a smile to not only your face but to your heart. How can you live without that.
