I'm not at the least bit ashamed of crying during movies. I don't care if they make me teary eyed or seem less macho, these movies you just can't help crying at.
Of all the movies that make me cry these are just a few.
Saving Private Ryan
The fact that Tom Hanks went through hell and back just to save this one soldier and relieve hs mother from the death of multiple children, just makes me tear up. Not only that, but in this suicidal mission he loses many friends to the enemy, and is eventually killed as reinforcements show up. And on his deathbed, the final thing he says in his life, is to Private Ryan. "Earn it," he says, "Earn it." After watching the beginning and middle of this movie you would not be expecting to cry but to puke, but Tom Hanks manages to make you cry in the end to him.
Moulin Rouge
The Moulin Rouge is a movie filled with incredible songs from many famous artists. In the beginning of the movie, Christian (Ewan McGregor) tells you that the woman he loves is dead. So you know she is going to die but the way that it was set out is incredible. During a middle of a performance he goes up to his lover, who is a prostitute, who he think has left him for another man, even though she's doing it to save his life. He goes up to her, drops money at her feet and claims "I have paid my whore." This just blew me away then he walks off, but she sings their lover's secret song to him and they join up with eachother in the end. Very emotinal scene.
I am Sam
A movie about a mentally handicapped man who wants to keep his daughter's custody. The courts say he is an unworthy father as his daughter's brain as far surpassed his and he therefore does not know enough to be raisin someone like that. A lawyer takes his case and helps him fight for her and in the end. Wow. Makes me cry all the time.
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
There are two parts in this movie that make me cry almost every time. When Gollum is leading Frodo and Sam up the stair, he betrays Sam and makes Frodo think that Sam is trying to take the ring from him. So Gollum and Frodo walk up the stairs, leaving Sam sitting there sobbing. Later, Sam realizes that Gollum framed him and so climbs up the stairs doubly fast, and gets to Frodo before the orcs do. Also, when Frodo collapses on Mount Doom, Sam realizes that Frodo doesn't have the strength to go on, and so knowing that Frodo would try to kill Sam if he took the ring off him, he states "I can't carry it for you, But I can carry you." And he says this with such emotion that it makes me cry.
Lion King
Yes, the one with the cute animated lions. When Simba's dad dies, that's it. Television goes off as I don't have the strength to watch anymore of the movie
So there you have it. Five movies that make you tear up inside. Hope this helps you choose what movies to watch if you're in a mood for crying.
