Timberlake's character supposedly has a penis that's so large it hits the floor when revealed, and is essentially the French Canadian version of Borat. He loves Celine Dion as Borat loves Pamela Anderson. He's an idiot that talks in a strange accent. He has a pet attack rooster. He's pointless, flat, and well, stupid. Jessica Alba was pretty, but her character had absolutely nothing to her; she giggles when Guru Pitka serves her a meal that looks like a penis, telling him she hasn't laughed so hard in ages. Maybe she should get out more? I thought Romany Malco did a pretty good job for what he had to work with, but I've been a pretty big fan of him since I got into "Weeds". Stephen Colbert and Jim Gaffigan also provided the few laughs I got out of the movie as two wacky sports announcers; kudos to them. I don't even know what to say about Ben Kingsley though. The once great Oscar winning actor went from playing Gandhi to playing the cross eyed Guru Tugginmypudah. It was sad, to say the very least.
There were cameos by Jessica Simpson, Kanye West, Val Kilmer, and Mariska Hargitay; perhaps Myers was trying to show us how many friends he has? I was annoyed by the fact that everyone in the film laughed at every awful joke that was made. It was as if they were trying to convince both themselves and the audience that it was funny. There were a few moments that I enjoyed, (there's a throwback to "Wayne's World", and some silly scenes of Myers covering songs on sitar) but overall this movie was devastating. I'm a film student, and I love movies more than anything else. I honestly never thought that a movie could be so horribly executed, or fall so hard on its face. I've seen some bad ones before this, but seriously, the government should pick this one up and use it as a means of getting information out of people. I'm guessing the average person would spill just about any secret after the first ten minutes. Maybe that's what this was; a weapon of mass destruction tested on unsuspecting audiences. Whatever it is, it's something to be avoided at all costs. Go stare at a wall or something; you'll probably be more entertained.
