Recipes: Quick and easy pizza

Pizza can be a fun food to eat and to make. The easiest way to make pizza is to make an English muffin pizza. It doesn't take a lot of ingredients, and it doesn't take a lot of time. Plus, everyone can have their own pizza the way they like it.

Ingredients:
Plain English muffins
Tomato sauce
Cheese
Your own pizza toppings

*Slice the English muffins in half so that you can make each into two pizzas. Each person will probably want two pizzas or a whole English muffin.

*Now put them on the tray you are going to cook them on. This way the ingredients will not make a mess all over a cupboard or table.

*Put about a tablespoon of tomato sauce on each English muffin (more if you like more sauce). For a spicier sauce, add Italian seasoning, garlic, or any other seasoning that you like.

*Sprinkle your English muffin with your choice of cheese or cheeses. Then put your own toppings on the top. Suggested toppings include pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, pineapple, green peppers, olives, and bacon. Even with little kids, each person can at least design their own pizza.

*The great thing about individual English muffin pizzas is that each person can have whatever they want on their own pizza and however much of each ingredient. If someone just likes plain cheese, that person can have plain cheese while another person can have pepperoni and sausage on their own pizza.

*The best way to cook these pizzas is in the oven. Turn the oven to broil if you want crispier cheese and softer crust. Turn it to 375 degrees if you want a more toasted crust with softer cheese. Either way, watch it carefully so the cheese does not burn. It should be done in about 5-8 minutes.

*They are done once the cheese looks melted and a little bit crispy. Take them carefully out of the oven. If you want a more toasted crust, you can put the English muffins in a toaster before putting the sauce or any other ingredients on them.

*Another option is to cook them in a toaster oven. If there are only a few pizzas being cooked, this is a good option. If you need to do a lot of pizzas, though, this option could take a while. Put the pizzas in the toaster oven, and cook them at 375 degrees for about 5 minutes. If you want them toasted more, cook them for another one or two minutes. Then take them out and enjoy.

*Make sure no matter where you cook your pizzas, you take them out carefully using an oven mitt so you don't burn yourself. Wait for them to cool off for a couple of minutes. Then eat and enjoy.

*If you want extra pizzas for later, they can be prepared ahead of time and either heated up again or eaten cold. You can even heat them up in the microwave although I wouldn't suggest cooking them originally in the microwave since they don't seem to cook right.

*These are great things for kids' birthday parties or sleepovers. Kids can get creative by using the ingredients to make faces on their pizzas or to do designs on them. I know I liked to make mine into a smiley face when I was a kid. Use half a ring of pineapple for the mouth and olives, sausage, or pepperonis for the eyes. Allow kids to get creative and have fun.
