Does he even suspect
can he tell how I feel
as we meet in this place
to eat a nice meal

Eating quietly now
he glances towards me
does he know it is over
in my heart, can he see

Now the meal has ended
A little chatter in between
will he hate me when its over
and think that I am mean

I start to speak a word
Interrupted by dessert
will it be real easy
or maybe it will hurt

Once again I start to speak
but he begins instead
saying our relationship is ended
for his love for me is dead

He pays and leaves me there
as I glance out to see
him walking with another lady
looking happy and free
