Wilderness
I wish I were the wilderness,
A wild and fierce and lonely land.
For then I'd know what's in your heart,
And I would take you by the hand.
I'd wake the brisk October wind,
And lead you to a mountain stream.
I'd share the quiet of your mind,
And wake in you a brand new dream.
For there is a part of you I'll never have,
Or ever really understand.
But to be the waters you're fishing in,
Or the beauty of the open land.
I wish I were a mountainside,
A high-up, far off windy place.
For I'd see the happiness in your eyes,
I'd see the wonder on your face.
I'd take you where the eagles fly,
Towards the east and the rising sun.
Where pine and oak trees fill the sky,
And beneath them stony rivers run.
There's a valley, a hill past my windowsill,
That'll move you more than I ever will.
A forest, a glen just around the bend,
That will fill you more than I ever can.
If I could just experience,
All these feelings you possess.
I'd be the place your heart calls home,
I wish I were your wilderness.

Poetry: Differences between you & me
by Scribble66
You walk with me but for a moment
Yet a lifetime passes by
For all my hopes and all my wishes
Disappear with words you sigh.
Just
by Conor Watts
It's your word, and its sound surrounds me.
It's your voice, but it's chewed up; out of key.
It's high time that I walked
Fire and Water
You’re the oil to my water,
the spark that lights my fire.
You’re up when I’m down,
hot
You're a puddle:
I'm a lake.
I'm a rock
you're a flake.
I'm sober as a judge;
you're drunk as a skunk...
I've lived here for years;
you
Phoenix Rising
If you look at me and see
a diminutive female struggling
in her chair to get across the street
before her battery
