Pose, smile, say 'cheese' and wait for it. . .a newly created memory for developing. Photos are the way to holding on to the moments that we are experiencing now. I have actually heard someone tell me once that all the photos they needed were in their photographic memory. However, what happens when you get to about 70 or so and your memory starts slipping? Wouldn't you like to be able to look back at those family trips you took when you were a kid or those trips you took with your kids?
I can a-test to the fact that having to take a moment out of your busy schedule or the fun you are having at the theme park is not a moment you want to lose. Remember though that one moment will be worth a thousand words one day, so people say. Upon viewing it years later, the visual surroundings, smell of the moment, feelings of the past, and adventure will all come gushing back as if you were still in the place. Who wouldn't like a second chance at that vacation?
Unfortunately, due to raising gas prices many families are skipping their annual vacation to save on expenses. Now is the time to consider other options for spending time together. Life truly is short so don't miss out on one moment of your planned vacation due to the economy. Go to a nearby hiking trail, park, bowling ally or something that the family enjoys doing together and make new memories.
Oh my goodness the eighties hair, the horrible bell-bottoms, pink and purple mixed together, bright clothing, cowboy boots, and even backless shirts. That one photograph holds many dimension to one single moment in time. It a good laugh at the silly ways we dressed, looked, or what we were doing. It could be a memory of the once special friend you had that was always going to be there for you but space and time changed that forever. Of course everyone has one photo of an ex that we imagined walking along side us til death do us part' until a new moment take that opportunity from us.
Sweet poses like these are the exact reasons for snapping as many shots as possible. The mother who wants to remember the funny thing their one year old did, the girl the teenage son took to the prom, the wedding in their late twenties with the beautiful daughter-in-law that lets her momma's boy visit home often, and the grandchildren now learning to walk.
Never skip a holiday with the family or forget to carry the camera close by prepared to capture that next memory that will create a good tea moment around the kitchen table remembering the good times. One day your grandkids are going to want to know what great grandma was like and experience the vacations one way or another.
