One of the Sexually Transmitted Diseases is Gonorrhea. It is one of the most common STD diseases that is transferred through sexual intercourse.
The main areas where it gets affected are the rectum, eyes and the throat and in women it it affects the cevix.
It is understood that women who fall a prey to this disease can transfer this disease to their offspring while delivering the child and this can have a serious problem for their eyes and if not treated properly it can lead to blindness even.
In most cases the symptoms of Gonorrhea appears within one to ten days after getting affected. But in the case a minority percentage of people who is affected the symptoms may not appear and it can last life long.
Men have only very less percentage of chance falling a prey to Gonorrhea while having sex with a woman who is affected with this disease.
In men some of the complications that can arise out of the negligence of the treatment of Gonorrohea are the swollen up condition of the prostrate Glands etc.
Also some other symptoms are thick pus discharge while urinating. Even swollen up prostate glands and testicles are some othe symptoms that a man can have .
some of the prominent Antibiotics used in the treatment of Gonorrohea are Amoxicillin, Ofloxacin etc.
Historically it is clear that mercury was used to treat Gonorrohea .
Silver nitrate was also used in the treatment of Gonorrohea.
Gonorrohea is one of the most infectious disease.
Gonorrohea is spread during sexual intercourse and also in contact with penis, mouth, anus etc. patients who have been affected with gonorrohea and finished treatment can also fall a prey to this disease if they happen to have sexual intercourse in future with people who are affected with this disease.
In men the symptoms are very rare. some cases show signs within the first five days. others can go up to even thirty days in the case of Gonorrohea. The most popular symptoms include yellow pus along with the discharge of urine and some cases a burning effect will be there while urinating. sometimes a swollen up testicle also reveals that the person is affected with Gonorrohea.
In Women, most cases are free from any symptoms. In the final stages an irritation or burning sensation while urinating,too much bleeding during menses period, and itching of the urethra are the common symptoms.
If untreated Gonorrohea can lead to serious health problems for both males and females.
