Poetry: Greed

by Kelsey Opel

Created on: July 12, 2008

Again the stars have wrongly named their fate,
Until my heart in me bestows amends.
Disgrace among my foes compels abate.
Vengeance no longer occupies my end.
A chilling winter captivates my soul,
That breeds undying greed that's far less grand.
A burning desire composes fast a hole,
It's yearning churns in me for false demand,
For power, gold, lust; wrong opposes the right,
Tis an everlasting wish I desire.
Then, down deep within all flips, day turns to night.
Alas! Now I escape the blazing fire.
Regret begins to seep inclined to me,
All hurtful thoughts conclude and start to flee.
