The reality of this subject is that, inevitably, it would be impossible to rid the entire world of terrorism. Terrorism has been apparent for centuries. From the attempted destruction of the Houses of Parliament, by Guy Fawkes, to the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Centers, this is an act of evil, which realistically, is seemingly difficult to overcome.
Since the 9/11 attacks, 'the war on terror' has been ongoing. For the 6 or so years that both British and American troops have been battling against evil, no major progress has been made. Yes, obviously the capture and execution of Saddam Hussein, arguably the most feared force in terrorism, is an enormous step in the progression of bringing an end to dictatorship, across the world and subsequently, the abolishment of terrorist acts. This is beneficial to all, however, unfortunately, Saddam Hussein is not the only terrorist in the world. As well as individuals, there are terrorist groups. Take, for example, the 7/7 attacks on the United Kingdom. The stereotype that all attacks are made by people of a different origin from the country whom is victim were washed away, when four British Muslims performed devastating attacks on the London transport system. This was a crucial 'wake up call' for governments around the world; do not just assume that one group or one individual is responsible for all terrorist acts; there are links across the globe.
To the point, I do not believe this is a responsible question to ask; what ideas do you have, in the aim to abolish terrorism? I, personally, feel that there should be more time spent actually doing something, opposed to making suggestions. After all, the longer it takes to rid the world of terrorism, the longer the world is at risk. My theory; less words, more action. This, i understand, gives the perception that i am a supporter of war; this is a false judgment. Nobody, in their right mind, can condemn the use of violence and the death of innocent people, in order to 'attempt' to end terrorism. The 'war on terror' has been an ongoing saga for too long. Initially, there was confidence, but now, there is doubt. The governments, around the world, must do something, now, before it's too late. With the United Kingdom, at present, on a severe level of warning, regarding a terrorist attack, it is probable that at some time, in the very near future, the evil minded demons of the world could strike again, only to humiliate the world's leading government bodies, such as Blair and Bush, once again. I admit, there is a small sense of satisfaction at seeing government failure, however, not when peoples lives have been lost as a result. Life is important, but survival is even more so.
In conclusion, the government needs to perform relevant actions that will see an end to terrorism sooner, rather than later. At this moment in time, undoubtedly, I see no light at the end of the tunnel that is terrorism; the lowest and most costly act of evil, which needs to end, here and now. I think the opportunity to express one's ideas on the riddance of terrorism should be reconsidered and in it's place, a debate regarding idea's on how to escape a terrorist attack because, right now, I am more considerate about avoiding such a disaster, than my useless assessment of the abolishment of it.
