Write We have a lot of laws in this country that we are expected to abide by. Most of those laws are good and serve the purpose of protecting us from crimes and injustice, when they are applied properly and to everyone. It is a known fact that our founding fathers wrote the Constitution based on the laws of the Bible. Laws like: don't kill, don't steal, don't bare false witness against your neighbor, and others that protect our rights came from the Ten Commandments in Exodus 20: 2-17. But today, we have turned a lot of the very laws that were meant to protect us around so that Christians are slowly losing their freedom of speech. God's law says we shouldn't commit adultery, but adultery today is rampant and marriages are splitting up right and left because of it.
There is a law that separates church and state, yet the government is getting into the churches business more and more everyday. Now, it is not lawful for a pastor to say that homosexuality is an abomination to God, though the Bible clearly states in Leviticus 20:13, "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them." It will soon be considered a hate crime, if the law passes, and that pastor could go to jail for preaching the Gospel, yet that same homosexual is allowed to say what he wants and that's alright. This is wrong and it will always be wrong. We are supposed to have religious freedom in this country, but a little at a time, that freedom is being stripped away from us. They have taken prayer out of schools and the kids have started killing other students and teachers; may I remind you of Columbine. They don't want us to wear crosses on chains around our necks to work, which should be our personal preference. The law makers don't want the Ten Commandments in our court houses and government offices. The church is not supposed to infiltrate the government, but the government is infiltrating the church. Crime is running rampant in today's society because God is being squeezed out of the picture. But this is nothing new. That's why Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed by God in Genesis 19. They had completely ignored God's laws.
The Bible tells us in Hebrews 13:17 to "Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable
