Poetry: The wind

by Gloria Gibson

Created on: July 11, 2008

Do you ever listen to the sound of the wind
As it whispers into the night
We've all enjoyed the comfort it brings
As it caresses first left cheek, then right

It seems so sad the wind has no voice
But borrows all it's sounds
With which the wind speaks such comforting words
And gives peace and joy that abounds

The words so sweetly spoken
The comfort that they bring
Words that would never be spoken
Except on borrowed tree branches sing

As the wind blows it touches our face
With such tenderness and love
It shows each person how important they are
To the being that dwells above

His love to us is given
Sometimes in the form of the wind
He also gives the tree branches
From which the wind borrows it's sounds

As the wind travels, the earth up and down
Searching for the lost and alone
To the east, to the west, to the north and the south
Seekng out those that have lost their way home

God uses all of nature he created to assist
All lost and lonely human souls
To bring beauty, to bring comfort, to bring happiness
To all the lost, thru the wind he stays close
