Love in the Canyons
There once was a time
When love would flow
Like rivers through the canyons
And melting snow.
It would be so gentle,
So sweet, so kind
Countless days when
You were mine.
Time has passed and
Love has changed
Hearts are ripped and
Pride is shamed
Tears are shed like
Rain from a cloud
Memories are passed
Their meanings unbound.
The snow is frozen
The canyons run dry
And I think of the day
When our love just died
