Poetry: He said

by William Burkholder

Created on: July 11, 2008

Broken Clockworks

He said,
no more time to waste on boyish flings.
dreams will be but forgotten.

He said,
turn around, I will wind the key,

Step off now in cyborg mental state.
Listen listen listen,
didactics, my words are all that you will hear...

How was he to know that I had disconnected,
That I pulled the plug on this, his spew,

key wound, blind followers,

He said,
they are my folowers, my prey,
my toys to do with what I shall.

He said,
But I did not listen and walked away.
