There are a number of reasons that a woman's body to stop ovulating. It can be different for many woman. No ones body is the same, they may even under go a number of test and the doctor still might not find anything wrong with you. A cyst on an ovary, chemical imbalance. You may not be eating right, or you tried a knew diet. If you are pregnant of course you stop ovulating, that is obvious. There could be a serious problem with your ovaries that can cause you to stop ovulating, resulting in them being taken out.

After the birth of my first child I had a menstraual cycle for three months. It had worried me, it should have slowed down and stopped after a few weeks. Then after the three months I stopped all together. I didn't ovulate for an entire year. I went to the doctor, and he did several test on me, some which I thought weren't even nessesary, but complied anyway. I wanted know what was wrong with me.

The problem got worse, as time went along I became angry, very moody. I would switch from happy, sad, crying and so on. My doctor never could figure out what was wrong with me. I decided enough was enough and sought a second opinion. That doctor found out what was wrong with me in no time at all. He said that I had a chemical imbalance caused by giving birth. The only way to correct it was to give birth again. I thought he was absolutely crazy. I did not beleive that in order to fix my problem I had to have another child. I did not want to bring a child into this world just for that reason. If I was going to have another child it would be for the reason that I would want another baby, and to love it whole heartedly. I didn't get pregnant just to fix my problem, I went on like that.

I found medicine that could lessen the effects but I still was not ovulating. Then it happened I became pregnant. We were very happy about it. My mood improved completely and after the birth of my second child everything went back to normal. I still didn't believe it was cause of the birth, but my doctor said other wise. He said that when you are pregnant the chemicals in your body increase in certain areas to help your body prepare for the birth and for motherhood.

Now there are medicines that the doctors prescribe to you that can correct a chemical imbalance. If you think you have a chemical imbalance that is causing you to stop ovulating check with your doctor, he can give you the prescription to correct it, if that is your choice. If you have a cyst on a ovary it can cause you to stop ovulating, you'd skip a month or so and then be normal again. A chemical imbalance can do the same thing. Just pay attention to your attitude and how your cycle goes.
