Poetry: My one and only love

MORE

Love can have so many faces.
Sometimes hides in different places.
Love can be where least expected.
Sometimes where it's least detected.

The love I have is not discussed
The one I have is a love I trust.
It's taken time to grab a hold,
to show itself and to unfold.

So many trials it has traveled
So many phases have unraveled
One thing I know this day is true
I have a special love from you.

My champion, my guard, you stand
Your heart is wrapped around my hand
My hand is wrapped around your heart
It has been from the very start.

You are the first to make it less
And yet you know we are the best
You fear the future that lies ahead
And sleep so peaceful in our bed.

It fills my heart to know we are
The best that two can be by far
It saddens me to know how hard
To twice receive the winning card.

At the end of day I close my eyes
And even though it isn't wise
I pray he give me one more day
To live within your love this way.

If you're convinced that there is "more"
My prince, the hero I adore.
I only hope, will always pray
You be rewarded "more" one day.

Unsure how I lost the way,
how I let you slip by,
