The Honey Do List: How to Use the Idea of a Fake Project to Get the Real One Completed

Since we marry men for love and stay with them because they provide us children and physical strength it is essential to learn the keys to getting your honey-do list completed or else you are simply left with another child (the husband). To make good use of him, you must utilize these techniques.

I have a honey-do list for my husband just like most women. It's now 4 years old. Randomly, something will get done, like the air conditioner will be put in when it's August and the house has been close to 90 degrees for months. When it's installed, a giant thank you will be expected or said husband will likely experience hurt feelings.

A smart women will realize this pattern and talk about installing the air conditioner in February. This may mean that the box the air conditioner is in moves a little closer to the backdoor each day. Ladies, when the box simply makes it out of the garage, (where it was stowed last November because it didn't get put in last summer), and into your backyard, you must be patient and use reverse psychology to get it moved any closer to the house. In this case, you'll need to take the husband into the backyard and talk about a new project he "should" start.

Now, you and I know that you won't really let him start it, but the idea is to get the wheels turning in his head. Once he's describing the project he's going to start to you (you need only mention the word "project" here, he'll do the talking from that point on) you must listen adamently for about 5 minutes. Once the project discussion is in "crisis mode" as in "you can't listen to another word even though you know you'd never let him actually start this project, just listening to it makes you feel stressed out" that's when you'll strategically need to begin moving back to the house.

The key here is to pass the air conditioning box on the way back inside. You might add a kiss and "I love your project idea, honey!" as you stop near the box. In some cases the husband might actually lift up the box and bring the air conditioner right up to the backdoor. The husband won't actually install it at this point, they'll be too excited about the other "fake" project. But adding suggestions and asking questions during the project discussion will get you bonus points here - he may even open the box and take the air conditioner out. Good luck, and in the mean time, no socks or sweats and you'll need lots of hair ties. Open all your windows and keep the fans on.
