How to make fried rice

Fried rice is one of my favorite foods to eat. You do not have to wait til you go out to a chinese restaurant, however to eat fried rice, or even order it to go. It really is very easy to make at home in your own kitchen. And once you make it, you will make it over and over again..So many times we have left over chicken or shrimp, this is a great way that we can use it up.The recipe I posted is for shrimp fried rice, but if you prefer chicken, this can be substituted instead of the shrimp.

This recipe is so simple and it will not take you very long to make it either. You will wonder why you never thought of making fried rice at home before. The first time I made this recipe I could not believe how easy it was to make, and also how very good that it was. My family really loved it, they could not get enough of this fried rice.It will taste just like you ordered it from the local chinese restaurant. But it will save you so much money. It will have your family looking in the trash can for the to-go box, they will not believe that you really made this recipe from scratch, it will taste so good.Just add a few egg rolls and you will be good to go.

I am one that loves cooking things that my family really enjoy, and this recipe for the shrimp fried rice happens to be one of those recipes that they really do like. It makes me smile when my family is pleased with something that I have cooked for them, it just makes it all worthwhile. So this is one of those recipies that I do make over and over again. And it is very nice that it is easy and not very time consuming too.

1 1/2 cups uncooked white rice
3 cups water
4 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup fresh bean sprouts
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 1/2 cups cooked medium shrimp, peeled and deveined without tail
1/4 cup chopped green onion
2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
4 tablespoons soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon sesame oil

DIRECTIONS
In a saucepan bring water to a boil. Add rice and stir. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Set aside and allow rice to cool.
Heat a large skillet or wok for 2 minutes. When the skillet or wok is hot, pour in vegetable oil, bean sprouts and onions. Mix well and cook for 3 minutes.
Mix in cooled rice and shrimp and cook for another 3 minutes. Stirring constantly.
Mix in green onions, eggs, salt, pepper, soy sauce and sesame oil. Cook for another 4 minutes, stirring continuously, until eggs are cooked and everything is blended evenly.
