Sleep drips from my eyes now.
The wetness has seeped through my bones,
into my soul,
sending a sharp chill,
that keeps my cold
heart beating
through yet another day.
Hands shake,
another night of watching both
sunrise
and
set
Where are all the other night-walkers?
I think,
to myself,
in the dark
as a candle burns its life away.
Shadows flicker on the wall,
on the street,
in the car,
and around the park.
I chase them
but it doesn't seem to
get me anywhere.

Poetry: Insomnia
Take a pill for this and take a pill for that
Lock the doors, turn out the lights and don't forget the cat
Put on your pj's
I’m trapped again in this dizzy dance
Where I writhe alone, spinning
In this restless trance.
Back and forth as the tide

Insomnia
No sleep.
No escape.
She is haunting the house now, moving like shadow;
Light as a whisper in the almost- morning
No
by Jon Coe
I wish to sleep, on heavy eyes
just one minute, please tantalize
But alas, as soon as I begin to dream
I am awakened, by this
by C.M. Tucker
If windows would close long enough,
Maybe unexpected dreams would rise
And challenge pain
That keeps insomnia company.
