Poetry: Fate

by Kara Hart

If I was to leave the earth at his moment,
I couldn't say I love you.
I couldn't say that I care.
I couldn't say I miss you.
Our future, we couldn't share.

I couldn't confess I was jealous.
I couldn't say I'm sorry.
We'd never be friends again.
And we couldn't tell about our fun stories.

There are so many things,
I wouldn't get to do.
Do you love me,
I wouldn't get to ask you.

I wouldn't get to drive,
or go to prom.
I wouldn't get to say "I do",
or get to be a mom.

If I was to leave the earth at this moment,
I'd miss out on my future.
And the fate of this poem,
would be to be left unfinished.
