Poetry: Rape

Very few people know,
what it feels like,
to have soemthing special,
stolen from you.
Something that defines you
as a person.
It has been there forever,
then in one quick moment,
it's gone
and you can never get it back.
One little secret,
that would tear a family apart.
That would cause so many people,
so much pain.
That would destroy the beliefs
of how everyone thought things were.
The memories that haunt you
and tear you apart,
and cause you to put yourself
through so much self inflicted pain
just to cover up the reoccurring images and thoughts.
The blade to your skin,
and the dripping blood,
and the searing pain,
are only a mask
that covers up what really tears
at your heart.
The fact that you can tell no one
because it will bring back the memories and pain,
and cause so much chaos and arguing
is truly what is killing you slowly.
One little moment in time.
One little secret kept quiet.
Two little people in one big family.
One little moment in time,
that can affect one person so horribly,
but just fall out of the other's mind
like a leaf off a tree.
