Poetry: Fear

by Wayne K. Wilkins

Created on: July 09, 2008

The fear in your eyes is evident my dear;
The life you have lived, full of twists and turns,
But for better or for worse we stand here right now,
Are you willing to give us a try?

Rejection seizes a grasp upon my heart; and for what reason?
Nothing more than fear of your past, fear of the life you once had,
What matters most my darling is the life that is to come, that is to follow.
Will you choose to be a slave to fear? Or will you choose to be my love?

It is a road that is hard to tread when your heart has been treated like a tool,
But with me, girl, your heart is like a treasure,
A treasure buried deep inside of your beautiful body.
I will not rest until it is unearthed; and that treasure I can call my own.

Together, we will defeat the shadow of fear.
Together we will stand, gallant and victorious,
Together, fear is just a word and nothing more.

You will fear no more; and heart in heart, we shall gallop to love and eternity.
