forgiveness for my many faults
jokes erupt in laughter and
make me forget the tears
to distract me from some crisis
I saw brewing but was nothing more
than chaos strumming for attention
in a world anxious for peace
and a quiet collective mind
blind to my scars
accepting of the things I will never be
some special recipe is rising like a symphony
planned for when I arrived home tired
and empty
you picked up all the ingredients and
found the placemats at the back of the pantry
and you won't be upset if I drink an extra glass of chard
you understand it was a long day and
smoothing my hair and kissing my headache
wishing you could take away the pain
you love me

Poetry: The way you love me
Telling me things in whispers at night.
Shaving cream in the sink at morning light.
I miss you and sleep in your favorite
it's unfortunate that molecules have settled onto my skin
an insistent beat
though i cannot see them
i can feel them pulse
I love the way you hold me with such an inviting embrace.
I love the way you kiss me with all the love I'll ever need.
I love

The Way He Loves Me
Like the petals of a rose that has just opened
with tenderness and romance too
he loves me
With dedication
by Adam Smith
The Way You Love Me
Is beyond my ability to comprehend
The force that drives my day and my life
Unwavering and unwilling
