A Typically Late Valentine for My Lovely Husband
Write me a love letter
sing me a soppy song
under my window
all night long.
Dance naked in my garden
a rose between your teeth
over broken glass
with tacks underneath.
Make me coffee
any hour of the night or day
help me with the housework
listen to what I say.
Take me to chick-flicks
instead of action-adventures
promise me undying lust
when I finally need dentures.
If all these things
you'll do just for me
your faithful lover I will be
even when we're ninety-three.

And share all my good times
I want to have
Anticipation
Never once have we met,
and yet...
I feel I know you still.
A soulmate and a stranger,
you do present a thrill.
