The New World
We left our world and in a new one
dragged our past, kicking and screaming.
We held on to each other whilst dreaming
in daylight we pulled each other apart.
They told us from the start
we had no chance, nothing to bind us together,
nothing that spoke of forever.
In all honesty they were right.
Looking back with perfect vision of hindsight
all those people, they thought themselves right.
Their opinion offered freely in banality,
had no baring on our reality.
Decades on and we are together.
Stronger in a life given to us, by a moment of fate,
bonds blissfully binding, only we can sever.
Impossible choices we made, with only our passion to sate.

my punishment to clean my room
