Why do we live? A fascinating question that has boggled the minds of men and women alike throughout the ages. The ethical end of life as Aristotle points out is happiness and in fact this could be considered to be the why answer to this deep question. I fail to understand how millions upon millions of individual "people" are so deeply concerned with the "why" of life and do not focus their concentration on the "how" of reality. Holding the thought of why or "purpose" in our minds we thus consider the vast variety and variation of human sufferings that plague our world. It is fair to propose that truth can only be apprehended through long, deep, and intense exertions of the faculty of reason onto the mental object (pardon the pronoun) of why. Through observing nature we see that animals live, eat, reproduce, and die all in a very short "time frame." Is life a journey? A journey somewhere else? To a "better" place? you must ask your "self" what "IS" better? What do "we" "mean" by better? better than this? How? Why? Maybe happiness doesn't matter. Maybe the journey is what matters. I firmly state on reasonable grounds that the journey to the ultimate end or goal is all that is required of a being who sees and feels and lives and laughs and loves. Growth is the reason we exist. Considering man as a plant and confusing your mind by imposing overlapping artistic renderings of reality into your understanding you will clearly learn that insight is as valuable a tool as any for "grasping" life by the horns and holding on for dear life... If you fail to look without. Can you ever truly look within? Could it be that I am only writing what I am thinking? probably.. Profound and timeless wisdom. The fact that men only say what they think is a profound bit of wisdom that is worthy of consideration. Or is it? Differing views of this or that exist and I use the terms very loosely. This is not an answer. I'm afraid you will have to find an answer for yourself. And "in" time maybe you will find one. Maybe you will die before you find one. Who knows. All that I know is that life is pure and beautiful like a million butterflies and I wouldn't alter it for all the gold in china. I have personally found happiness and freedom in the good book. Whenever I have a question about anything I always pick up my bible. I find that it not only brings hope and wisdom to the simple but also understanding and comprehension to the "dull of mind."
