Poetry: The difficulties of life

Life And Love

It's late at night, I'm all alone.
I sit here cause I can't go home.
My home and I are far apart,
Cause I am a prisoner to my life and heart.
My heart is active as can be.
A hopeless romantic, that is me.
My life is simple, or dull you could say,
But it works for me quite nice this way.
I work for life, and live with my heart.
I know farewell that both can't part.
Cause I work all night, so I can live
This loses time like sand in a cive.
But time that I get goes to my heart,
With all life's joys I can put in my cart.
But if I could do what I wanted to,
I would live with my heart my whole life through.
But I know that my heart needs my life.
So that maybe someday I'll have a wife.
But my life also needs my heart,
So each day, I have a reason to start.
I wait for day, so I may go home,
And dread the nights in which I rome,
But to keep the balance between life and heart,
With my home, each night I have to part.
