Mothers have have a wonderful reputation for their ability to communicate well with their children. I believe it is part of God's plan. From the beginning it was clear that the mother would be the one who has more time with the children. Usually the better relationships are mother with daughter, and father with son. This too is found from the beginning as Adam and other fathers in the Old Testament spent much time with their sons in the fields, teaching them to work and make the land productive. The mothers and daughters were found in the home, and sometimes together in the fields working together.

Most of the time one parent does communicate more easily than the other with their children. Often that parent is the Mother. There are times when communication is equally distributed between both parents. Of course many fathers do a fantastic job of communicating with the children. Sometimes it is not a matter of communicating easier or better, but rather the kind or method of communication that is done. It is not necessarily about "Mothers or Fathers communicating more easily with their children." Sometimes it is a matter of "Who will step up to the plate." Maybe even in some cases, "Who can step up to the plate." I don't believe it is necessarily easier for one than the other. I believe it often all depends on who does the job, or who is in the place where it is easier. That is why sometimes both parents succeed in the communication process with their children.

The mother is usually in the home most of the day, if she is a stay at home Mom. The mother is the stay at home parent more times than the Father is. This automatically stacks the deck, makes it a little easier for the mother. Mothers are wonderful. They usually have a great faith in the child's abilities. Their verbal communication is often more positive and encouraging. In most cases the mother fills the shoes as a teacher, and the Father is a role model, mostly by actions. Of course this is a general statement. There are so many things that are involved in communication with our children. How the children see other women, or men in their lives? Who they look up to outside the family may be a determining factor in why the child listens to or follows one parent more than another. It is not all about the parents' communication skills, the child often decides who they will pay attention to the most.

There is such a great need for children to hear encouraging things, and see positive behavior in
